We (hubby and I) have owned a Galmpton holiday bungalow since 2006. What drew us to them is the idyllic location on the fringes of the village with beautiful views of the Dart and countryside; peaceful and yet convenient for all amenities and attractions, with Brixham, Torquay and Dartmouth all within a few miles.
This is somewhere we could come to and relax in a tranquil environment without being remote. Also, as we have a dog we wanted somewhere we could walk. And there are great walks from the doorstep. (Don’t expect a level walk, this is Devon!) My favourite from the doorstep walk is down to Mill Creek, a 10 minute walk down Mill Lane with a sharp slope at the end to get you down to the shore of the River. Also the walk to Greenway is a must do for me! There are various routes of differing lengths, the longer offering stunning views along the way! Greenway is a National Trust property and was Agatha Christie’s holiday home – lucky lady!
I nearly forgot to mention the dog friendly village pub is also a stroll away.
What we can offer you is compact and well equipped ‘home from home’ accommodation, in a delightful relaxing setting, at an affordable price. You’ll pay no booking fees or service charges and have the advantage of a personal service from yours truly. If you have a question, just ask. If you are unsure which bungalow is right for you, just ask. I am only too happy to help.
Where We Are
Nestled between Torbay and the Dart Valley in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Galmpton Park is a small and well-kept development of 46 privately owned holiday bungalows and is attractive, quiet and peaceful (no pubs or clubs). We are a 10 minute walk to Galmpton village centre where you will find the local pub, village store and post office, family butcher and hairdresser.
Agatha Christie’s former home, the captivating Greenway House & Gardens (now National Trust), is just a mile down the road. The beautiful beaches of Broadsands (1.4 miles), Goodrington Sands (2.5 miles) and Elberry Cove (1 mile) are a stone’s throw away, with Goodrington North sands and Elberry Cove beaches open to dogs all year.
The park also offers superb views of the River Dart and across to Dartmoor in the distance. You can take a walk down to the Creek in 10 minutes, passing a gorgeous view of the Dart on the way.
